Jun-18-13  FISCHERboy: Cool. A 7-year old kid can do powerful moves! He's got game. We have a new Wesley So.
Jun-18-13  iking: it seems .... he is too young to be counted as the next Wesley .... let us see in the next 5 years
Jun-18-13  Barok Espinosa: i agree with iking

Phony Benoni: White didn't have to do except avoid blundering. And aren't 25.Bxf7 or even 25.Bxe7 better than 25.Qxf7?

Probably the most impressive thing is the finish after the queens came off. White had an effective if simple plan, and carried it out efficiently. The mate at the end is executed well.

But there's nothing here to indicate a player of FM strength. Based on this game alone, I doubt White would be rate an Expert's rating, let alone Master or FM.

But, again, he didn't have to show much to win easily. We need to see games against tougher competition before making a real judgment.

Jun-18-13  Maatalkko: <Phony Benoni> 25. Bxf7 Qf8 26. Bxe7 Qxe7 27. Bxg8 or 25. Bxf7 Rf8 26. Bxe8 Rxf3 27. gxf3 leaves White up a rook instead of the exchange. In this sense White made a mistake, but it's possible that White saw the Queen trade line as winning clearly and just went for maximum piece trades to wrap it up faster.

Also very interesting that White went for 16. Bd5 instead of capturing on f7 in response to 15...Nd7?? Is this a brilliant Karpovian finesse to move one of the Knights to an inferior square before taking on f7, or is it a double oversight? Again, two very different interpretations based on what you presuppose White's strength to be.

The execution at the end was very clean. This is often lacking in weak players. AN definitely has basic skills.

It's reasonable to posit that Alekhine Nouri is at least 1200 or 1300 based on this game, but his opponent was so bad that a 1400 or a Grandmaster could have dispatched him with equal ease. There is really no point analyzing a lot further. Of course, this means it's ridiculous to award any title to someone for beating opponents of this level.

Jun-18-13  geniokov: Actually,after 15..Nd7, white can play 16.Qxf7+ Kh8 17.Nf5! Bf6 18.Bg5 Rf8 19.Bxf6 Rxf7 ( 19..Qxf6? 20. Qxd7! won a piece,while 19..Nxf6 20. Qxg7#) 20.Bxd8 Rxd8 21.Bd5 etc.
Jun-18-13  Maatalkko: <geniokov> I rejected that due to 17...Rg8, but after 18. Bd5 g6 19. Bxc6 gxf5 20. Bxa8 Qxa8 21. Qxe7 or 18. Bd5 Rb8 Bxc6 White wins a clean piece and it's totally hopeless. So yes, 16. Qxf7+ was the most accurate. Everything wins though.

Really absurd to award a title, even "Fide Intermediate", for games of such low caliber. It only belongs in this database as a curiousity.

Jun-19-13  geniokov: <Maatalko> You mean after 17.Nf5 Rg8? The problem is White can play 18.Qd5!(attacking Knight at c6!)18..Ndb8 is impossible to defend Knight at c6 due to 19.Nxe7!(if 19..Qxe7 20.Qxg8+#; and if 19..Nxe7,then 20.Qxa8! wins a piece!)I just gave a variation above answering 17.Nf5 with Bf6 if fairness of his opponent!
Jun-19-13  geniokov: And if Black tries 18..Na7 then 19.Qxa8! Qxa8 20.Bxg8 Kxg8 21.Nxe7+! wins.
Jun-19-13  Abdel Irada: <puliskarakter: Black didn't play chess>

Did you play better when you were nine?

Jun-22-13  puliskarakter: <<Abdel Irada>: <puliskarakter: Black didn't play chess> Did you play better when you were nine? ∞>

no I didn't because I learned chess at the age of 13.

How about you, did you play better chess when you were nine?

Jun-22-13  Abdel Irada: I learned at age 10, so I'm not the one to ask.

My point is, I think we should cut small children a bit of slack.

Jun-22-13  Fiona Macleod: Thien Long Dao's page is lonely. Not a single post there yet. Since you are discussing him, maybe you should transfer there and make the kid happy.
Jun-22-13  SugarDom: <It's reasonable to posit that Alekhine Nouri is at least 1200 or 1300 based on this game, but his opponent was so bad that a 1400 or a Grandmaster could have dispatched him with equal ease. >

Cmon 1200 or 1300?, it's more like 1700.

Jun-22-13  bubuli55: That young boy who sang the Star-Spangled Banner before the game 3 Heat - Spurs Finals was criticized basically for doing his part.

The following game, he was again asked to sing. This time, after his rendition of the national anthem, Coaches Eric Spoelstra and Gregg Popovich went to him to shake his hand and told him he did a good job. Very classy actions.

But just like what < wordfunph > has mentioned before, FIDE ex-Pres. Florencio Campomanes said "Kulot ang buhok ng mga chess players."

:)

piltdown man: Hardly a prodigious performance.
Aug-18-14  TheBish: This game is two years old, long before Nouri earned the FM title. Also, this game seems hardly befitting this website, regardless of the ages of the players.

Why not show a more recent game (or several), such as those that helped him to earn the Master title, and more substantially demonstrate the skill of a master?

Dec-30-14  amartir: Plain to see! the " toddler " has potential, and like all other sport, proper training and nurturing will help a lot to bring out an athletes full strengt. keep playing on kid and may u soar to really great heights! never get upset by set backs!
Dec-11-15  bobbyperez: I could beat nouri, alekkhine because I only blunders after a good move.He is a Filipino like me.
