Feb-13-15 | | WhoKeres: A convincing finish! WGM Ohme demonstrated some excellent tactical mastery in this game. |

 | | An Englishman: Good Evening: Amazing how quickly the game turns against Black after 19...c5 and 20...Rfe8. Should I presume the finish is 21...cxd4; 22.Nf6+,Kh8; 23.Qe5? |

Feb-16-15 | | morfishine: White drops a chess-lesson in Black's lap. It will be interesting to see how the career of Women's candidate master and Albania's #5 ranked player progresses ***** |

 | | al wazir: I thought white should have played 19. Rxd4. If 19...Qxd4, then 20. Bb2. Where does the black ♕ go? A) 20...Qd7 21. Nf6+.
B) 20...Qb6/Qc5 21. Nf6+ Kg7/Kh8 22. Ne7+.
That leaves only
C) 20...Qd8 21. Nf6+ Kg7 22. Ne7+ Kg8 (22...h6 23. Qxe6 Bb7 24. Nxb8, followed by 25. Rd1) 23. Qe5, and now if 23...h6, then 24. Nxb8 Qxb8 25. Qxe6 Qc7 26. Rd1). The game line leads to a quick win only because of 19...c5, which prevents black's ♕ from recapturing and controlling the long diagonal. |

Feb-16-15 | | TheTamale: Thanks to <An Englishman> and <Once>, If you miss that follow-up, it really isn't clear to see why Black resigns. (In fact, I thought Black had been getting the better of it!) |

 | | HeMateMe: Pretty familiar three piece attack against a finchettoed kingside. |
|
Feb-16-15 | | Mating Net: Prime example of why the fianchettoed Bishop belongs on g7 when the enemy DSB is still on the board. |

Feb-16-15 | | Patrick007: Yes ohme has skills but this game tuzi made pretty obvious blunders. Ohme had it easy. |

Feb-16-15 | | goodevans: <al wazir: I thought white should have played 19. Rxd4...> Very nice and I agree with your analysis up to <19.Rxd4 Qxd4 20.Bb2 Qd8 21.Nf6+ Kg7>, but now <22.Qe5> is the quickest way to finish black off. Also, you omitted 20...Qd5 from your otherwise exhaustive analysis, taking advantage of the pin on the Qe2. Once again 21.Nf6+ does the business. |

Feb-16-15 | | Oliveira: <Mating Net: Prime example of why the fianchettoed Bishop belongs on g7 when the enemy DSB is still on the board.> Definitely. I was wondering why Black didn't go 10... ♘e5 (oh, what a woodpusher!), but with that in mind I just spotted 11.♘xe5 ♕xe5 12.♗g5! click for larger viewThat bishop is being sorely missed on g7. |

Feb-16-15 | | Oliveira: <zweigeltrebe: Fritz found 20...Bxc4 with only a slight advantage for white.> click for larger viewHmm, I don't see much room for White to be fooling around here rather than the prosaic 21.♕c2 ♗d3 22.♗xd4 ♗xc2 23.♘f6+ etc. The great thing about 20.. ♗xc4 is that Black doesn't give away control of the long diagonal just until the ♕s have been exchanged already. |
