Aug-27-14  Marmot PFL: Trouble with these sharp lines is if computers are allowed it takes out all the fun.

MissScarlett: Nigel and Yaz? Don't even think about it.

Penguincw: This has probably happened before, but it's not often you see 3 sets of doubled pawns... in the opening.
Aug-27-14  ajile: The problem is if Black takes Bxe3 fxe3 then the Rf1 now defends the f6 pawn allowing Qh6.
Aug-27-14  1d410: My emotions want white's attack to completely fall apart and lose. Black played such clever defense...
Aug-27-14  zanzibar: Yes, it looks as if Black must do an exchange sacrifice to preserve equality:

16...bxc2 17.Nd5 Re6 18.Ne7+ Rxe7 19.fxe7 Qxe7 20.Bxb6 cxb6 21.Rfe1 Qd8 22.Qxc4 Bf5

MissScarlett: Both players evidently still in prep. This coverage is a JOKE!
Aug-27-14  john barleycorn: Is not white better now?
Aug-27-14  ajile: <MissScarlett: Nigel and Yaz? Don't even think about it.>

No I would want Nigel and the other British guy. I always forget that guys name.

: /

Aug-27-14  kellmano: <ajile> Lawrence Trent?
Aug-27-14  zanzibar: <Marmot> agreed, easy to do at home, home to find otb.

Still, the engines don't always suggest the most fun lines to look at, without a little help.

Aug-27-14  ajile: <kellmano: <ajile> Lawrence Trent?>

YES THANK YOU.

Aug-27-14  Marmot PFL: <Is not white better now?>

Unless someone blunder I believe white will recover his material and reach a roughly = ending.

After Nbd5? No way.

Aug-27-14  whiteshark: <MissS> Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. And there is no evidence at all... ;)
Aug-27-14  Marmot PFL: 17...Re6 defends Bb6 and more importantly allows Qf8 if white plays Qh6
Aug-27-14  ajile: <Marmot PFL: 17...Re6 defends Bb6 and more importantly allows Qf8 if white plays Qh6>

Agreed Black needs to be able to defend against the mate threats.

Prearranged. Self-evident for the attentive observer...

Aug-27-14  Ulhumbrus: <Penguincw: If you're like me and having difficulty viewing the live broadcast, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5n....> Thx This does seem a lot better
Aug-27-14  waustad: Laurence Trent, if I'm spelling it right
Aug-27-14  zanzibar: Black can also exchange sac with 17...Rxe3, maintaining the dsb for defense. It's almost as strong as 17...Re6.
Aug-27-14  Marmot PFL: < zanzibar> Looks good too, then Bf5 keeps the strong c2 pawn.
Aug-27-14  ajile: Ne7+ does look unpleasant but all the variations need to be worked out.
Aug-27-14  Marmot PFL: Although Ne7+ disturbs that idea
