Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-08-14  ChessMan94: Trading queens with a player rated almost 1000 points higher is not a good idea.
Dec-08-14  Jambow: Leaving queens on the board with a player rated a thousand points higher also seems foolhardy, probably looking to get into to drawish territory.
Dec-08-14  Jambow: no clue why Nakamura didn't take the knight on move 29 and munch another pawn?
Dec-08-14  Jambow: Ok ends up opposite colored bishops and drawish which is what an 1800 would be very pleased to do. Note to self look and then post commenting in blitz mode leads to blunders ;0]
Dec-08-14  SirRuthless: It was unnecessary, the two bishops dominate the B+ N and the chances of an opposite color Bishop ending and a draw for black become non-existant even with less than optimal play. The computer might trade off the B for the N in a second but for a human who wants to mitigate risk and continue to blitz moves keeping the B pair is more practical imo.
Dec-08-14  Jambow: Thanks SR it works and I'm not sure what Nakamura saw except opposite colored bishops made his job more difficult perhaps. No matter I would have avoided opposite colored bishops even though I have won with them frequently enough. I'm sure Nakamura would win with the opposite colored bishops but it was easier to avoid that and blitz out moves if I understand you correctly?

No matter what a show he put on in London crushing the opposition with authority. He looked pleased as well he should have. Seems he is finding his form again. I notice when he is playing well he has better success when his knights are active certainly his knights stood out in London.

Although all the greats played well with all the pieces winning brilliant games doing so, Fischer seemd more apt with his bishops as Kasparov was with his knights as I remember it.
