Oct-02-16  PhilFeeley: Thanks, <CG>.
Oct-02-16  PhilFeeley: They should be blitzing it out now. 20 moves in 2 minutes?

chessgames.com: Extra 30 seconds per move increment at all times.
Oct-02-16  Imran Iskandar: I think the boards are frozen. In other news, Gelfand loses his fifth in a row. Reverse Caruana, anyone?
Oct-02-16  PhilFeeley: There must be something wrong with the live feed.
Oct-02-16  whiteshark: Unusual position; Svidler is down to 0 minutes according to the clock

chessgames.com: We just got a few more moves and the Time Fairy put some more time on Svidler's clock. Things are probably back to normal now.
Oct-02-16  whiteshark: right; 12 mins for Svidler, 7:39 mins for Li Chao on move 28.
Oct-02-16  Thirups: Gelfand lost again..!:(

offramp: <Thirups: Gelfand lost again..!:(> He has always been annoyed that Anand shared a final syllable with him.
Oct-02-16  whiteshark: At least the last 5 moves before timecontrol Li Chao played on increments. Well it went downhill pretty quickly
Oct-02-16  Ulhumbrus: Li Chao has resigned on the chess24 website.
Oct-02-16  Gypsy: <whiteshark: At least the last 5 moves before timecontrol Li Chao played on increments. Well it went downhill pretty quickly> Seems to me like Swidler had the end-game firmly in hands at any rate,

HeMateMe: what happens after black plays B-b8?
Oct-02-16  whiteshark: <Gypsy> Right, I meant before the ♕ trade-off, although GM might evaluate it differently.
Oct-02-16  blackdranzer: HMM....Bb8 Bg3 Ba7 and white wins the bishop for the pawn
Oct-02-16  Ulhumbrus: One justification for 3...Bg4 is that after b4 the move Qb3 will no longer attack the b7 pawn. This justification is insufficient if 3...Bg4 is a mistaken choice.
Oct-03-16  whiteshark: Enjoyable post game interview w/ Peter Svidler and analysis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t4...
Oct-04-16  CountryGirl: Lovely game by Svidler, he kept control through most of it.
