Jan-25-17  zanzibar: <<chemmac> Another draw by reputation?>

By jove, that's a good one I hadn't seen before. A quick dirac to the heart.

  perfidious: <ChemMac>, nice one.
Jan-25-17  zanzibar: Here it might indeed be a "draw by reputation", as Black does have an eval over -1.0 in his favor.

On the other hand, Lombardy uses the term in this video:

for this game:

M Esserman vs Anand, 2016

Of course, it's fun to listen to Lombardy, but he's really analyzing at blitz-speed. So his assessments, "Black is losing" are likely off (at least according to SF8).

Esserman might have pulled up out of respect, but it wasn't exactly a "draw by reputation", despite the repetition.

I wonder who first used the term "Draw by Reputation" in print? Soltis? Emms? ... ???
