Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-20-17  Jamboree: Fabulous double knight fork of K+R twice at the end of the game! Never seen that before. It's like one knight appears to be more powerful than three rooks and a king combined!
Apr-20-17  whiteshark: Quick Magnus Carlsen <Interview> after his win: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA_...
Apr-20-17  Marmot PFL: Reminds me of how Fischer used Grunfeld tactics to beat weaker players.

R H Steinmeyer vs Fischer, 1962

Apr-20-17  Sokrates: Well said, <Jamboree>, this is quite amazing and very world champion-like.

Thanks for the link, <whiteshark>. The enormous mass of hair and the scholar specs haven't improved the champ's communication skills. He is still a nightmare for an interviewing journalist.

Apr-20-17  CountryGirl: It was nice of Georg to play it out for the spectators at the end.
Apr-20-17  MichaelAndrewLo: Here is my analysis of this great game!

Apr-20-17  sfm: <CountryGirl: It was nice of Georg to play it out for the spectators at the end.> Certainly! Some spectators are (still) entry-level chessplayers, and when the game 'suddenly stops' they are left with an unsatisfied feeling, which will not contribute to their interest. With no spectators Meier would probably have resigned after QxQ.
Apr-20-17  Swapmeet: Finally Carlsen playing like Carlsen! Not crazy about the new hairdo though, it seems to be taking on a life of its own.

chancho: Georg Meir probably felt like an Oscar Mayer weiner after this beating.

multiPV analysis of Meier mistakes

May-06-17  thegoodanarchist: <chancho: Georg Meir probably felt like an Oscar Mayer weiner after this beating.>

I am reminded of the old TV commercial, "If I were an Oscar Meyer wiener, everyone would be in love with me."
