Jan-24-18  Marmot PFL: Vishy thought that white forgot his prep and meant to play 16 d3 instead of d4. Maybe he expected 11...e6 (which Anand had played before) instead of 11...0-0-0.
Jan-24-18  ChessHigherCat: Not sure why, but I think Anand played a real masterpiece here, the way he unrelentingly pursued his plan after the exchange sac, with no pawn-grabbing and all the right moves. Very architectural, slowly evolving into an unstoppable alien life form.
Jan-24-18  Marmot PFL: Yeah Anand never gave white a chance to recover.

An Englishman: Good Afternoon: One of my favorite games from the tournament so far, great example of how to sustain an initiative and how long you can sustain it.

HeMateMe: Why Anand is one of the all time greats, how he comes blasting in out of the opening.
Jan-24-18  Paint My Dragon: It is often said that the 'computerized youth' have the upper hand on opening prep, but games like this show that Vishy has a formidable arsenal of opening ideas.
Jan-24-18  pantlko: Very interesting game from Bishop. How he tied down the whites pieces is fascinating. The white knight was not able to move from a1 square till white resign.
Jan-25-18  Ulhumbrus: Following the move 12 Be4 the move ...f5 will make the advance ...e5 more effective, as the f5 pawn will support the advance ....e4. Instead of this, on 12 b3 at once after 12...e5 13 bxc4 Black does not have a pawn on f5 which can support the advance ...e4.
Jan-26-18  Aware: To me Anand plays the most stunning chess when he's on.
