Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-24-19  beenthere240: After 24...Rc5, the game site showed Carlsen playing 25.Kh1 ??? with an immediate winning position for black. Of course MC actually played Bxf7+, reaching a draw by rep a few mines later.
Aug-28-19  utssb: This is a good example of a sideline you can use against the Grunfeld, the idea with Qa4+. sometimes Black will play 7...Qd7 and then there are a number of options. The 10...Nb6 move that Nepo played is good but it's not as strong as 10...cd4 with the idea of 11.cd4 Nc5 12.dc5 Ba1 13.e5 Qc7 and Black's a tiny bit better off. If White doesn't accept then maybe 12.Qc2 Bg4 13.Rb1 Bf3 14.dc5 Be2 15.Qe2 Qc7 and it's just about equality.
