  chrisowen: I woe my bag v dr u hoof jack Rxc3+ aea it's oar find;
Oct-13-23  King.Arthur.Brazil: However, in the line: 27...Bxc3 28. bxc3 Qxf4+ 29. Rd2 Rxc3+ 30. Bc2. Now B cannot play 30...Rd8?? 31. Qh8+ Ke7 32. Qxd8#. For this reason, W cannot also gives checks (Qh8+) because after 30. Bc2 Ra1+ 30. Bb1 Rxb1+ 31. Qxb1 which would be impossible after some previous Qh8+??.

In the line: 27...Bxc3 28. bxc3 Qxf4+ 29. Rd2 Ra1+ 30. Kc2 Ra2+ 31. Kb1? Qxd2 and B kills first (32. Qh8+ Ke7 33.Qxg7) Other possibility: 29. Rd2 Rxc3+ 30. Kb2 Qb4+ 31. Ka2 Ra3#. W lose too if 29... Rxc3+ 30. Kd1 Qxf3+ 31. Ke1 Qxh1+ 32. Bf1 Rc1+ win.

For 28... Qxf4+ 29. Kc2 Ra2+ (30. Kb3 Qa4#) 30. Kb1 Qa4 31. Bc2 Qa3 and mate next. 31. Kc1 Qa3+ 32. Kb1 Qb2#. Even in the case of 32. Bc2 Qc3 (defending g7 and mate next).

So, B must play: 27...Bxc3 28. bxc3 Qxf4+ 29. Rd2 Txc3+ 30. Bc2 Tec8. Now 31. Qh8+ Ke7 32. Qxg7 doesn't save. After 31. Rd1 Rxc2+ (32. Kb1 Qb4+ 33. Ka1 Qb2#) Qxe5 34. Rd8+ Ke7 35. R1d7+ Kf6,,, (2♙+2) against (♕+6P). I suppose B must win, although is still not so easy.

I really didn't analyze Rxc3+, which was my fault.

Oct-13-23  Refused: looks like a good sicilian in which black got the attack going.

27...Rxc3+ is the most natural move imo

28.bxc3 Bxc3 threatening mate. (Qa3-Qb2) 29.Rd2 Rd8 inviting the final piece to the party and this is 0-1

Oct-13-23  mel gibson: I saw the first ply but there is no fast checkmate.

Stockfish 16 says:

score for Black +6.72 depth 39.

  al wazir: 31. Rf1 would have been better for white. If black follows the game line with 31...Qa1+ 32. Bb1 Bxd2+ 33. Kxd2, then 33...Rd8+ (33...Qd4+ 34. Qd3) 34. Bd3 Qxf1 35. Qh8+ Ke7 36. Qxd8+ Kxd8 37. Bxf1 , and white holds onto the ♗.
