An Englishman: Good Evening: The entire attack looked devastating. White's 2nd move makes the entire variation work.
Aug-16-23  Mayankk: 39 Rxe7+ Kxe7 40 Bh4+ is the classic removal of guard sacrifice and is the first theme which comes to mind. Black Bishop has been bravely guarding its monarch and its only fair that we start with dismantling that defence first.

White now has a variety of King moves, all of which lead to an eventual mate. 40 .... Kf7 41 Qd7#, 40 ... Ke6 41 Rg6+ are more obvious. If 40 ... Ke8, then 41 Qd6 Qc7 42 Qe6+ settles matters.

corneliussulla: black bishop to H4 also wins very easily
