takebackok: Missed it went for 31...Rb4 Beter luck tomorrow.
Nov-30-23  Brenin: My choice was 31 ... Rb4, trapping the White Q because of N forks, e.g. 32 Bf4 Qb6.

al wazir: 34...Rb2 wins too. After 35. Rg1 Bxg1, black is threatening 36...Qxg2# and 36...Qh2#. There's no way to stop both.
Nov-30-23  mel gibson: I found that easy today but I spent about 2 minutes checking it out.

Stockfish 16 says:

(31. .. Nf3+ (Nd4-f3+ Bg2xf3 Qd6-g3+ Bf3-g2 Bg7-d4+ Qc4xd4 Rb1xf1+ Kg1xf1 c5xd4 Bg2xe4 g6xf5 Be4xf5 Qg3xh3+ Kf1-e2 h7-h5 d5-d6 Qh3-h2+ Ke2-d3 Qh2xd6 g4xh5 Qd6-e5 Bf5-e4 Qe5xg5 Be4-c6 Qg5-c5 Bc6-a8 Qc5xh5 Kd3xd4 Qh5-d1+ Kd4-e3 Qd1-c1+ Ke3-e2 Qc1-b2+ Ke2-d3 Qb2-b1+ Kd3-e3 Qb1-b6+ Ke3-e2 a6-a5 Ba8-e4 Qb6-b2+ Ke2-e3 Qb2xa2 Be4-f5 Qa2-d5 Bf5-e4 Qd5-e5 Ke3-f3 a5-a4 Be4-b1 Qe5-c3+ Kf3-g4 a4-a3 Bb1-f5 a3-a2) +200.00/43 2273)

score for Black +200.00 depth 43.

scormus: <al wazir 34 ... Rb2> well spotted, looks like the neatest kill
Nov-30-23  Mayankk: I saw 31 ... Rb4, couldn't find a reasonable square for the White Queen to escape and concluded that should be it.

I was then surprised to see the game going on for another 8 moves in a totally different direction.

Not a good week for me, this one.

Nov-30-23  TheaN: Honestly I stopped after <31....Nf3+ 32.Bxf3 Qg3+ 33.Bg2 Bd4+ 34.Kh1 Be5 -+>. Not because I thought Qh2# was unavoidable, but that the premise of Kg1 Qh2+ Kf2 was absolutely horrid for White. Neat combination, where the sac is purely in place to put the queen in front of the battery after 34....Be5.
Nov-30-23  Refused: 31...Nf3+ 32.Bxf3 Qg3+ 33.Bg2 Bd4+ 34.Kh1 Be5 is curtains.

Black will get to play Qh2+ Rb2+ Qxg2 in some shape or form and this has to be mate.

chrisowen: Foe its jug its hip quaint rub Nf3+ aoh its jah its ghoul its a cog mug bah its a Nf3+ cite :)
Nov-30-23  Lambda: I had 36...Bd4+ 37.Be3 Rb2+ 38.Ke1 Qxg2 which is a little inefficient but doesn't spoil anything.
Nov-30-23  alyoshakaramazov: As made clear above, 32. ... Qg3+ is correct. But moving 32. ... Bd4+ first also send to lead to an interesting inescapable win.
Nov-30-23  Stanco: I went for 31...Nf3+ as well.
If white doesn't sacrifice his queen for bishop black mates in few moves: 31...Nf3+ 32.Bxf3 (forced so to say 32.Kh1? Qh2#) Qg3+ 33.Bg2 (forced again 33.Kh1? Qh3+ 34.Kg1 Bd4+ 35.Qxd4 Rf1#) 33...Bd4+ 34.Qxd4 cxd4 (34.Kh1? Be5 35.Kg1 Rb2 36.Qxe4 Qh2#)
Nov-30-23  nikonoel: Got this one without too much effort - easy for a Thursday!
