offramp: Yet another GotD from one of Lasker's Simultaneoi.

It features one of those very tough ♕+♖ duels: it is not an ending but not quite a middle game.
♕+♖ v ♕+♖ is the fabled fourth state of chess.

Anyway, Lasker was outplayed. He must have been surprised how Luna ticked all the right boxes and won with no problems.

Oct-05-20  Brenin: Luna played like a GM playing a patzer: take no risks, accept pawns when they can be taken safely, simplify into an advantageous endgame, advance passed pawns. Lasker never stood a chance.

OhioChessFan: This was a beatdown. Lasker probably knew he was lost after 18...Nxe4. He should have resigned after 32...Qxa4.
Oct-05-20  Ironmanth: Thanks, chessgames. Y'all stay safe out there today.

Honza Cervenka: Lasker's play was quite sloppy here. 12.Rc1 and 13.Re1 just left Pd4 en praise for nothing. Well, I guess in simul it sometimes happens to everyone.

He was 'tired' Lasker vs Muntana, 1921 (kibitz #1)

Oct-05-20  Pawn Slayer: Are we sure they had the colours the right way round? I cannot believe Lasker was outplayed like this.

OhioChessFan: <PS> you're not the only one who wondered that.
Oct-05-20  thegoodanarchist: This game took place about 6 weeks after Lasker had lost the title to Capa. Maybe Lasker wasn't up to the task, emotionally.
Oct-05-20  The17thPawn: Well if your only going to have one game in the database a win against Lasker is the way to represent.
