Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-12-24  YoungEd: Thanks, I guess, Random Game selector! I think maybe White mishandles the dark-square ♗; the trade for the Black ♘ on f6 just makes Black's dark-square bishop strong. I might have tried getting the ♗ to h6 after ♕d2 in an effort to exchange on g7. The last few moves are hilarious--must have been a heck of a time scramble!
Oct-13-24  FM David H. Levin: The page source gives the illegal 42...Ra7 followed by more moves. I've attempted to reconstruct a plausible game score and am about to submit a correction slip.
Oct-13-24  stone free or die: I think all the wackiness begins at 26.Rb6, which has to be 26.Rxb7 instead.

Here's my reconstruction:

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.Be2 O-O 6.Nf3 Nbd7 7.O-O e5 8.Re1 c6 9.Bf1 a5 10.h3 Re8 11.Bg5 Qb6 12.Qd2 exd4 13.Nxd4 Nc5 14.Bxf6 Bxf6 15.Rad1 a4 16.Kh1 Ne6 17.Nxe6 Bxe6 18.f3 Bh4 19.Qe3 Qxb2 20.Rb1 Qa3 21.Red1 Bf6 22.Nd5 Qxe3 23.Nxe3 a3 24.Rxb7 Reb8 25.Rdb1 Rxb7 26.Rxb7 Bd4 27.Nc2 Bc5 28.Rb3 Ra4 29.Kh2 g5 30.Ne3 Kg7 31.Kg3 Kg6 32.Be2 h5 33.Kh2 h4 34.g3 Bxe3 35.Rxe3 Bxc4 36.Bxc4 Rxc4 37.gxh4 gxh4 38.Rxa3 Rc2+ 39.Kg1 Kg5 40.Ra7 f6 41.Rg7+ 0-1

Agreed, and our reconstructions are identical up to (the adjusted) move 41. Mine continued (given below) so as to reflect as much as possible the score given in the page source.

41. Rg7+ Kf4 42. Rg6 Rxa2 43. Rg4+ Ke5 44. Rxh4 c5 45. Rh5+ Kf4 46. Rf5+ Ke3 47. Rxf6 c4 48. e5 c3 49. exd6 c2 50. Re6+ Kd2 51. d7 c1=Q+ 52. Kf2 Kd3+ 53. Kg3 Qg5# 0-1.

Oct-13-24  stone free or die: Yes, my score ends prematurely. Thanks for the fix.
