Check It Out: It was later learned that Gelfand was using an inner-ear implant of deep blue.

Atterdag: What a disaster. Gelfand has long declined, but this ....!
Sep-19-22  stone free or die: Was there any interview where he explained what he was thinking when playing 20.Bg5, I wonder?

20.Bxe5 actually gives White a slight advantage.

Sep-20-22  Atking: Yes <stone free or die> I wonder myself and agree that 20.Bxe5 was the natural continuation giving a sligth advantage to White. I don't understand too.

fredthebear: Any allegations of lying, cheating, stealing here?

PawnSac: what.. like Niemann secretly stole and returned Gelfand's prep after inserting some blunders?
Oct-12-22  jerseybob: <stone free or die:...20.Bxe5 actually gives White a slight advantage.> Agreed, and since d4 can't be protected - 19..Bc5 doesn't seem to help either - how about 19..Rc2? This was a rapids game, and 19..e5 looks like an hallucination.
Jun-17-23  PetroviciChess: Probably overlooked something in calculating 20.Bxe5 for sure... because not playing that black is already way better
