Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-20-22  tessathedog: One benefit in playing over ALL the games of a tournament is that we sometimes see just how badly even top players can play at times. What on earth led White to eschew the simple looking 47 Bf3+, winning the queen next move? When I do that sort of thing (which is often) I go back to my hotel room and start hurling things at the wall. It is kind of pleasing to see that Grandmasters have such moments too.
Sep-20-22  Chessius the Messius: Players play bad all the time. It's of all times.

It has gotten worse with the engines; when they are "off grid" their true chess knowledge appears.

And it ain't much, in many cases, let I tell ya.

Sep-20-22  tessathedog: If it was move 40 you could understand it. But he surely had plenty of time, and it seems so straightforward. I presume he missed something in the line he did play, thinking it was completely winning when it was not. Hope the wall in his room isnt too damaged.
