Oct-18-22  moodini: Without going in to any great depth, I like this game. White's play is single minded from early on, pushing the Q side pawns and marching his K up the board. Black seems to be a helpless bystander (I can relate more to Black than White in this case).

HeMateMe: seems to be an opening that forces both sides to castle queen side or else swap queens early. I think white might have the worse endgame with more pieces on the board because the advanced kingside pawns can become weak.

After so much material disappears white's king becomes a road warrior.

Oct-20-22  goodevans: Niemann kept on pressing until Lenderman finally cracked.

Black needed to keep the d8 square free for his R by retreating 36...Kc8. Then the swift breakthrough 37.c6 bxc6 38.Kc5 would not have worked because of 38...Ne4+ 39.Kxc6 Rd8 and White's d-pawn is toast.

With the K on d8, 38...Ne4+ no longer works because after 39.Kxc6 Kc8 (else 40.Rb2) 40.Bb3 the threat of 41.Be6+ is pretty much impossible to defend against.

If Black plays 36...Kc8, the situation looks very unclear. It seems forced to reply 37. Kc3 (so 37...Nf3 38. Re2 Rxh4 won't be check) Ne4+ 38. Kd4 Nf6.

White has much more active pieces, but his queenside attack is stopped at the moment and Black threatens ...g5 and general advance of the kingside pawns. I have no idea who's on top and what happens next.

Oct-20-22  goodevans: <beatgiant> Neither do I!
