Sergio X Garcia: Fred is right. Railroad and Kill box #
Nov-29-22  stone free or die: Let's just talk about the mate patterns in the game and all is good.

The <Kill Box> finish (stripped down) looks like this:

Originally this was called a <RRM-diag> position, to emphasize the connection to the <Railroad Mate>.

The other finish, now called the <Triangle Mate>, was originally named <RRM-ortho>:

The ortho and diag(onal) referred to the relative placement of the Q+R.

I mention this, because, in retrospect, the following mating position might have been better named <Kill Box>:

It's not widely known, but I call it the <X-Box Mate>(*), since the Queen supports the Rook via an x-ray through the king. You can find it used here and there over in the comments on <ChessTempo>:

(I like the old interface better - fwiw)

(*) Any similarity to any Bill Gates product is, *cough-cough*, entirely coincidental!

.

Nov-29-22  Rdb: After black's move number 60 , white took 3 moves for mate which is one too many.

61. Qc7+ (or Qd7+)

And then 62. Rb8 #
