I remember, lots of years ago in the team championship we had a very shaky position on the standings, so the trainer told us to win at all costs. After 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nd2 Be7 4.Bd3 c5 5.dxc5 Nf6 6.Ngf3:

I completely forgot that 6...dxe4 should be played, and went on instead with 6...Nxe4, and then lost in approximately 30-35 moves. And that was because of the constant oscillation of my opponent! It was terrible!
