Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-09-24  Olavi: The game actually finished 51.g5 Bb2 52.Kg6. I think White should have tossed the coin to decide his 52nd move.

nizmo11: <Olavi> Do you have source for this game?
Helsingin Sanomat 22.03.1931
https://digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi/s... gives only 50. Kxh6 Kg8, with the final comment "and a draw." (Which could also mean that more moves were played)

nizmo11: Thank you <Olavi>. This should be the authoritative source.
Does Böök include all the games from this match, and from matches 1932-1934? Now few games are missing from cg.

nizmo11: Also, does Böök analyze the position after
29...Kc4?

Is there a win for White?
HS commentator J. Terho writes that white should win after 30.Kg1 or 30.g4, but he missed that after 30.g4 Black has Kb5! 31.Nb8 Bc7 and to avoid losing the knight, White needs to return one pawn with 32.a4+ or c4+ and Black should draw without too much trouble.
However, a better try is 30.Nb8. Now Black can trap the Kn with 30...Kc5 31.Nd7+ Kd6 32.Nf8 Ke7 33.Nxh7 Kf7 34.Kg1 Kg8, but is this a draw?

Mar-11-24  Olavi: <nizmo11> He gives all games only from the last match, Rasmusson-Böök. Of the others he gives a selection, sometimes only a position.

He just writes that after 30.Kg1 or g4 they concluded that it seems to be a draw because of the strong bishop...

Later he mentions that 36...Ba1 was also possible; after 37.Ne3 Ka3 38.Nc2+ Kxa2 39.Nxa1 Kxa1 we have a unique draw!

nizmo11: <Olavi> does he give all the moves for Rasmusson-Böök, game 9? (the final game of the match ).
His game collection has only from the adjourned position. Games 3 and 5 from this match are missing as well.
Mar-12-24  Olavi: <nizmo11> Game nine from move 51, game five from move 23 till end on move 45, game three in toto. I'll come back.
