FSR: The Accelerated Dragon (2...Nc6 and 4...g6) is a tricky opening. Most people avoid it because they don't like facing the Maroczy Bind (5.c4). White can also head for the Yugoslav Attack with 5.Nc3, as he did here, but he should play accurately. 8.Bb3! d6 9.f3! is the correct move order, e.g., J A Esquivel Leon vs F Rhine, 2023. 8.f3?! is known to be an inaccuracy because of 8...Qb6!, as Kozlov played. White's best response is 9.Bb3!, leading to equality after 9...Nxe4, as in Fischer vs Panno, 1958. The sharper 9...Ng4!? is also possible.

9.O-O, as Maryasin played, succeeded brilliantly but is objectively weak. Black should simply snap the pawn with 9...Qxb2!, when White has no real compensation. Instead, he tried the fancy 9...Nxe4?, which was refuted by 10.Nd5! Now Black's best is 10...Bxd4! 11.Nxb6 Bxe3+ 12.Kh1 Bxb6 13.fxe4, when he would only have two pieces and a pawn for the queen (+1.5). Instead, he tried 10...Qxc5?, but this was refuted by 11.Nxc6! After 12.Ncxe7+, Black resigned.
