FSR: White played a "Chameleon Sicilian" with 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Nf3. White keeps Black guessing as to whether he will go for an Open Sicilian with d4 or play something else. Similar is 3.Nge2, when in G Jacewicz vs F Rhine, 2024 I responded with 3...Nd4!?, preventing 4.g3? Nf3#! C F Heng vs B Oh, 2017. Another Chameleonic game was K Miettinen vs F Rhine, 2024, when after 2.Nf3 d6 3.Nc3, I selected 3...e5!?

Back to this game. After 3.Nf3, many Najdorf players are unhappy, since after something like 3...d6 4.d4 they find themselves in a different Open Sicilian. It's perfectly fine to avoid this with 3...e5, as Sveshnikov recommended. Carlsen has played this many times. https://www.chessgames.com/perl/che.... I decided to play a Dragon setup, not fearing the Yugoslav Attack. I ended up a pawn down for not quite enough compensation (Stockfish gave White around +0.6). But with my trusty engine by my side, I still held the draw.
