perfidious: Farago annotated this game in <Players Chess News>.

So far as I recall, this was the only time I ever tried 5....d5, to which Farago appends ?!

A few days later, I faced Vinny Puri in the blitz event and he played the dubious 5.Bg2, which has somehow been seen no less than ten times in this DB.

Farago notes that 11.Nd3 is an improvement over 11.Nd2 Qc7. He then criticises 16.h3, stating that 16.Kg1 Nh6 17.'d5 squeezes Black to breaking point. Finally, Farago notes that 21....Nf5 offered Black chances of hanging on.

MissScarlett: <Players Chess News> Is that <Player's Chess News> or <Players' Chess News>, or was the apostrophe considered quite de trop?

perfidious: They evidently considered the apostrophe, as you say, de trop; it was always spelt thus.
