<53.> ?

else --> Game Collection: yy_x- - -> HALL OF BLAME

Apr-08-24  Cassandro: <whiteshark: <53> ?> My immediate thought would be 53.Rg8, and there is no way for Black to hold on to both pawns. Anna's 53.Rd5+ was perhaps the decisive mistake allowing Black to draw? Usually it's best to keep the rook behind the pawns, so I guess she should have stuck to that! Hugely entertaining game, BTW. 60..g1=N! is a gem. Underpromotions are always fun to watch.
Apr-08-24  whiteshark: That's right, <Cassandro>. 53.Rg8 and 53.Kf7 both win.

As Anand explained during the live commentary, the white king must come from behind on the h-file to stop ♙g6, so <53.♖g8 g4 54.♔f7 ♔f4 55.♔g6 f5 56.♔h5 ♔g3 57.♖g6 ♔f3 58.♔h4>.
