GrahamClayton: 'US Champion Walter Browne gave a simultaneous exhibition and lecture in Nashville on April 19, while on an abbreviated national tour. The event was sponsored by the Music City Chess Association and the Rivergate Mall. Excellent coverage was received through newspaper and television.

Grandmaster Browne faced 38 'local' players, some of whom came from as far away as Sparta, Tullahoma and Fort Campbell, KY. He allowed each player to choose the colour, so that about three-fourths chose White. After about 3.5 hours he had won 37 games and lost only one.'

An Englishman: Good Evening: "Thistle-ing Past the Graveyard?" Given how quietly White played the opening, he finished with a bang; 34. White to Play will make a difficult puzzle some day.
