FSR: I played this game in a correspondence thematic tournament. Every game had to begin 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 d5 5.exd5 Nxd5? 6.Nxf7! Both 6.Nxf7! (the delightfully named Fried Liver Attack or Fegatello (in the original Italian)) and 6.d4! (the Lolli Attack) are very strong. Having spent some time looking at 6.Nxf7!, I can attest that it is very close to winning. I don't know exactly how 6.d4 compares.

According to Stockfish 17, this game might represent best play by both sides after 6.Nxf7!? (The repetition 36.Qb4+ Ke8!▢ 37.Qb8+ Ke7!▢ is unnecessary but doesn't hurt anything, giving Black the chance to go wrong.) I was shocked that my opponent, a correspondence IM, offered a draw. That might be the theoretically correct result, but Black is hanging on for dear life, so most people would play on. I currently have the position after 37...Ke7 in three other games, two as Black and one as White. One of my games as Black went 38.g4 h3! (apparently best). The other two, one with each color, went 38.h3. Most likely those three games will end in draws as well, but it's very unpleasant for Black.
