Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-31-24  Damenlaeuferbauer: In his games against the chess legends Boris Gelfand and Vasyl Ivanchuk, the streamer Daniel Naroditsky shows, that he has no clue of the King's Indian Defense. Everybody can imagine what would happen, if he plays a classical or rapid game against a KID killer like the former world champion Vladimir Kramnik, who won classical, rapid and blitz games with white against the best (together with Bobby Fischer) KID player Garry Kasparov.

Jan-01-25  ZonszeinP: And
Stein, Geller and Bronstein played the "KID" better than Fischer and Kasparov
Jan-01-25  whiteshark: <ZonszeinP: The ignore list is a great thing>

Yes, but only as long as it is not completely full. After that, 'the problem' will become obvious again. ;)

What do you base this statement on?

- Winning ratio?
- Depth of ideas?
- Strength of the opponents?
- ...

It has its place, but mine is nowhere near full.

Jan-01-25  ZonszeinP: 🫡
Neither is mine
Jan-01-25  whiteshark: Well, a lot has accumulated over the years... :D
Jan-01-25  ZonszeinP: I love this game though

Gelfand is one of my favourite players

It's nice to see him (as well as Ivanchuk) playing so great in this tournament
