Jun-05-25  Chessinfinite: Another good game..Gukesh is on even score with the other top players so far..
Jun-06-25  cehertan: Deep.
Jun-06-25  Atking: What is this crazy plan 8.Qd3; 10.Qc4; 11.Qf4; 13.Qf3? I still don't get it... but it seems to work indeed.
Jun-06-25  paavoh: @Atking: <What is this crazy plan 8.Qd3; 10.Qc4; 11.Qf4; 13.Qf3> I think it was more of a tactical play in response to direct attacks - just keep the Queen mobile instead of pulling her back (10.Od2 or Qe2 would lose a tempo or block the LSB, respectively).
Jun-06-25  Atking: <paavoh> I mean it is a crazy concept to move 4 times the Q at the very first moves of the opening. Sure the Queen is well placed on f4, but to get it 4 moves is quite a lot. I know an example from Alekhine in which he used a similar approach against Wolf at Pystian Tournament, but that case is more understandable.

perfidious: As the winner of Alekhine vs H Wolf, 1922 noted, he played in a concrete manner in order to best exploit his opponent's mistakes.

Staggering to see perhidious make the effort to give a chess reference link, but do tell us what a D02 queen pawn game given in a handful of chess literature classics has anything to do with this interesting 2025 opposite sides castling C42 king pawn game. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/I11Q...

Oops! Could it be ANOTHER lazy blunder by the posts-far-too-frequently self-promoter given a free pass?? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/aiSo...

What we have is yet another well-documented example where the deadbeat editor did not even bother to play through the game(s) that he comments on. Perv merely lurks to slag the comments of other posters, his big narcistic ambition in life. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dWtp...

No, Gukesh did not invent any new chess opening as click baiters like to say. The young world champion did play a less common variation. For those unfamiliar with the Russian Game: Nimzowitsch Attack, 8.Qd2 is normally played. There are just four examples of 8.Qd3 in the database: https://www.chessgames.com/perl/che...

fredthebear: Also note that Stockfish analysis gave 5.Nc3? (the Nimzowitsch variation is the second most played move accepting doubled pawns) as 5.d4 is the mainline leading to a brief copycat structure.

You missed out on rea-ding com-pre-hen-shun, <kid>.

<....Perv merely lurks to slag the comments of other posters, his big narcistic [sic] ambition in life.>

You live to persecute one other account here, as well as mine; pity your 'abilities' are otherwise limited to spamming pointless links and politics.

If you are unable to understand the analogy, crack a real chess book and--perhaps--learn something about the game. If that is beyond the capabilities of your short-weighted brain, have the good sense to stuff a sock in it, just once.

Sally Simpson: Early Queen sorties (by good players) are more common than one would think. This one has a fair bit of theory behind it.

White makes seven Queen moves on the trot, nicks the b7 pawn and comes back to d1. (and won.)

perfidious: <Geoff>, Nagy obviously never read the aphorism about grabbing the morsel on b7.

fredthebear: Obviously perfidubious never played through the C42 game above, as neither player captured the b-pawn "morsel". Both b-pawns remain on board at games end.

perv is still out in left field. Al keeps (uselessly) adding to his posting totals and then cries when called out for such ineptness, as if he is immune to correction of his embarrassing habit of yammering.
