Aug-19-11  kardopov: Why did he stop playing competitive chess? I mean tournament plays that are NCFP rated? Surely he is still a player to reckon with. He is a very good positional player, very sound and solid.
Aug-19-11  kardopov: Much thanks to you rsoljcruz for updating us with Gerry Cabellon. I'm a fan of him during his playing days. Regards to him. Our friend Andy has just passed away. Didn't have the chance to visit his wake. I want to see Clinton Tan. Does Gerry knows his whereabouts? Regards to Gerry, same as to Clinton. Again, thanks to you sir rjsolcruz.

It has been nearly three(3) decades that again I visited the alluring world of chess!!! I was deeply saddend for the demise of one of my best friend Andrew Vasquez. I didn't know until now. Andy as most of our friend call him was a man of principle , undeminished character and had a good sense of humor! Andy we will forever miss you pare! Andy, Gerry cabellon, Rene Cadiz, Paragas, Rolly Yutuc, ED Alix, Hombrebueno, Bernardo and myself and our coach Bernardito Rementilla( a chess player by his own right)were member of the TIP CHESS TEAM way back in our PICUAA days(3 Championship and 2 second place finish-never been equalled I presume)The bonding that we have cultivated and enriched during those days were unparalleled. Memories like these will be forever remembered! to my friends, chito & ed garma, rogelio antonio, abalos, ed gatus, angelo young, fernie dongines, villamayor, dick gicain to name a few...
