In November 1966, Army SP4 Chester Thomas Wozney won the 7th US Armed Forces championship in Washington DC. He scored 8.5 out of 10. Wozney later won the 1967 Ohio chess championship.

  GrahamClayton: Wozney scored 9.5 in the 1973 US Open, winning the Expert 1st prize section, along with $500.
Jun-03-16  reztap: Wozney was armed forces chess champion. Not sure of exact date some time in the early sixties.
