ABRAM SZPIRO
(born Jan-10-1912, died Feb-16-1943, 31 years old) Poland

Polish master who lived in Lodz which had a strong chess culture with strong players such as Isaac Appel, Achilles Frydman, Edward Gerstenfeld, and Theodore Regedzinski. He took 6-7th places in the 1935 Polish Chess Championship in Warsaw and 7-8th the 1937 Championship in Jurata.

He was killed in the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz.
