  Sally Simpson: Hi epistle,

Bunch = group, I was not addressing a single individual, as I an here, but the whole lot them.

I sometimes despair at what I see. A true fan (and here I'd class myself as an admirer) must expect and accept the defeats and still be there.

Oct-11-15  epistle: I fully understand your sentiments, <Sally>. I've known long ago that they are not true fans and that is why I've never said Hi to them.

  Sally Simpson: Hi Epistle,

I'm sure they are real fans and they let their on the spot emotions pour out but it does sometimes read like they blame Wes for any loss.

If a player rated 2700 makes even a small slip v a 2600 player he will get put away, he is mixing with some tough hungry company.

I also have to remember that English may not be the posters first language so sometimes the wrong words may come out and I've misunderstood.

Heavens knows what I'd sound like if I tried posting in Filipino.

I'll be kicking off with:

Kamusta Epistle,

I think that is right, after that I'd read like a Chris Owen post on LSD.

Oct-12-15  epistle: <WinKing: <iking> I will tell you that GM Carlsen is surely keeping an eye on GM So. >

And I will tell you that I had asked my buddy Magnus and he said he's not even giving the slumping So a passing glance. Both his two eyes are focused on Wei Yi.

Oct-15-15  epistle: <Wala Kang Binatbat: Good point mcten. Iba talaga ang mga banat dito sa atin. ... Mas matitinik at matatalino kasi ang mga katropa ng ating bida.>

Let's have a sample then:

<paulegaevsky: Good luck idol GM Wesley So for Bilbao Master.>

<for Bilbao Master>???

Susmariajosep. Mas magaling pang mag-inggles sa inyo si Gatus e.

Oct-20-15  epistle: Sanitised and cleansed of dissenters, surrounded only by his falakfak boyz, he should nevertheless heed the words of joeyj's bible which says: <A flattering mouth worketh ruin.> (Prov.26:28)

LOL.

Oct-20-15  epistle: < there is no assurance of an increment.>

the performance will be tae, so there is an assurance of an excrement.

Oct-20-15  epistle: <dunkenchess: Nakamura and Giri were recently defeated to 2500+ opponents. See? >

Both are better, have plus scores and are higher rated than your boy, see?

Oct-26-15  epistle: On the psychological level I consider Ding Liren far superior to Wesley BS. The fact that the latter hasn't beaten him is also a big plus for the Chinese.
Oct-26-15  epistle: I have no time or interest in watching the games. But someone please send me an sms after Wesley BS has lost as I am always in the mood to party.
Oct-26-15  kamagong24: sorry to rain on your party, Wesley won an elegant game against Ding

Bilbao 2015

Oct-27-15  epistle: <kamagong24: sorry to rain on your party, Wesley won an elegant game against Ding>

What's the big deal??? What we are having is a swimming party. We were all already wet when it rained.

Excuse me as I adjust my baton inside my tight swimming trunks...

Oct-28-15  epistle: <Don't count on it <jerry crus>. They won't stop until he becomes the World Champion.>

A diplomatic way of saying he won't become world champion.

He knows we won't stop, period.

But he says we will stop when he becomes world champion.

Therefore he is saying he will never become world champion.

The logic is unassailable.

Oct-28-15  epistle: His Excellencelessly Wesley BS, President of the Vices in America is playing today.

Let us all wish his opponent well.

Oct-30-15  epistle: <I like Ding as a player <chessobserver> but sometimes he tries to make something happen in the position when there is nothing there. >

But if you ask them specifically which games of Ding and at what exact point in the games did Ding do these, they won't be able to tell.

Pseudo-profundity abounds in these pages.

Oct-30-15  epistle: Only in CG can you find patzers saying there is NOTHING in a position where a 2700 plus GM obviously found something worth making moves for.
Nov-05-15  epistle: Candidates Chess 2016 participants
1. Vishwanathan Anand (India) – The player who lost the 2014 World Championship Match 2. Sergey Karjakin (Russia) – as winner of the FIDE World Cup in Baku 3. Peter Svidler (Russia) – as the silver medalist of the FIDE World Cup in Baku 4. Fabiano Caruana (USA/Italy) – from FIDE Grand Prix 2014–15 5. Hikaru Nakamura (USA) – from FIDE Grand Prix 2014–15 6. Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) – By rating
7. Anish Giri (Netherlands) – By rating
8. Levon Aronian (Armenia) – organizers nominee of rating higher than 2725 ELO

Truly the creme de la creme, noble men in their prime. What an exciting tournament!

Nov-05-15  wordfunph: napakasakit Kuya Eddie!

go Gatus!

Nov-05-15  epistle: <wordfunph: napakasakit Kuya Eddie! >

Sayang naman the rating. But as Sally says, what goes around comes around. Of the 8, I like Nakamura the best. He's the friendliest to my idol the So.

Go Naka!

Dec-29-15  epistle: <Performance rating 2516
FIDE rtg -24

Starting rank 12
Final Rank 69

What happened ??? >

From his final ranking you need not ask, as it is very obvious. Wei Yi had reached puberty and is now thinking about sex a lot.

Jan-23-16  epistle: <MCDreamz: Huwaw naman and haba na ng listahan! >

LOL. 250 yan dati, naging 84 nalang tapos huwaw and haba na daw?

May katarata ito. O pinanganak na duling.

Feb-26-18  Kapmigs: If they put their hearts into it, Wesley So's fans may be able to afford the services of this guy to train him.

After all, saliva is now 5 centavos per gallon.

Feb-26-18  gokusano: What's the use kap? Another unsyame time coming, and no particular monicker could reverse the unsyame
Feb-26-18  Viktorerro: Any news about this guy?
Back in June 2008, I stumbled on a national chess tournament at this Mandaluyong city hall, got to watch a few moves of a game between him and Wesley So - drawn in 20 or so moves. In the early '80's this guy could be seen in street chess along Recto Av and Avenida, as chess puzzler- kibitzer. Most likely a bunch of UM chessers, incl Antonio.
Nov-05-18  wordfunph: This guy shows promise. I think all he needs is a long rest and a good coach to guide him in his opening repertoire against specific opponents and in no time he will be ready to compete in the world senior championship.
