Nasvýtis Algirdas Leonas, born 12 June 1910 in Subačius, passed away on 28 June 1981 in Cleveland.

Lithuanian and United States engineer, sports and public figure. In 1931–34 he studied at the Kaunas Conservatory, in 1933–37 he gave a concert as a pianist. In 1937 he graduated from the Faculty of Technology of Vytautas Magnus University. From 1934 he worked, from 1937 to 43 he taught at Vytautas Magnus University. 1938 Chairman of the Steel Engineers Corporation, Secretary of the Lithuanian Union of Engineers and Architects. From 1938 to 1939 he studied (worked from 1944 to 1945) at the Higher Technical School in Berlin and from 1948 to 1949 at the Higher Technical School in Hanover.

In 1944 he moved to Germany, was the secretary of the Lithuanian Union, in 1945–46 the chairman of the Göttingen district of Lithuanian deportees, the representative of the Baltic Council in Germany. After moving to the United States in 1950, worked in Cleveland in materials resistance and vibration, and since 1958 in analytical mechanics and mechanical transmissions.

In 1938 he was one of the organizers of the Lithuanian National Olympiad. 1928–40 Member of the Committee of the Athletics Center, 1940 Chairman, 1941–44 Member of the Council of the Chamber of Physical Culture and Chairman of the Lithuanian Chess Union, 1955–59 Chairman of the Lithuanian Chief Physical Education and Sports Committee. From 1937 to 1940 he worked in the journal "Technology and Economy" and from 1955 in the journal "Applied Mechanics Review" (United States).

Registered 13 patents; in 1965 was among the top ten inventors in the United States.
Prepared and published memoirs of B. Armonienė, an exile from Siberia. "Leave Tears in Moscow" (1961) in English.
