Dec-29-13  Karpova: He was <Generalkonsul> (consul general) and suffered two match losses against Ernst Schütte, chess editor of the 'Hamburger Nachrichten':

1st match: +1 -7 =2

2nd match: +0 -8 =2

A 3rd match was underway.

Jan-20-14  Karpova: Albert Hallgarten won 1st prize in the 5-player Amateur tournament at San Sebastian 1912.
