<Mr. Lasker played 30 games simultaneously at Cheltenham on Thursday of last week. He won 24 games, drew four games, and lost to Colonel Law, of Cheltenham, and to the Rev. E. E. James, of Gloucester. On the following day (Friday) Mr. Lasker played 24 games at the Imperial Hotel, Clifton. He won 16 games, drew two, lost to Mr. H. Byron, and four games were unfinished. On the day following Mr. Lasker gave another exhibition at Clifton. He lost to <Mr. H. C. Moore>, whilst a large number of games remained unfinished. Why does Mr. Lasker, or any other player, undertake to play more games than can be finished within reasonable time? During the present week Mr. Lasker has visited Birmingham. We understand that he has accepted the invitation of the Moscow Chess Club to visit Moscow some time in January.> Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette, 14 March 1914, page 3: <The funeral of Mr. Harwood C.
