 | | sachistu: Is this a different person than the Reinhard Cherubim who played in the Belgian championship in 1937? In Cornil's book of Belgian chess championships, Reinhard Cherubin is listed in the 1937 cross table. Other sources (e.g. L'Echiquier 1936) just list the last name Cherubim. Perhaps it is coincidental that he has the same name as the German player? |

Deutsche Schachzeitung, Sep. 1979, p. 303:
[Event "8. Niedersächsischer Kongress"]

 | | sachistu: Thank you <Jean Defuse>. In my copy of DSz 1979 (Sept) p.303, I could not find the passage you apparently quoted. However, on page 304, the answer seems clear when Cherubim indicates he played for Brussels in the late 1930's. He mentions (and gives) his game against Perlmutter from a team match against Antwerp. By the way, the game you cite (against Tarrasch) appeared in Deutsche Schachblatter 1932 Issue #11, p193-4, and also in Schackvarlden 1932, p138. |

<sachistu & Telemus> So the quoted to the game must be come by Mr Anderberg - I'm sorry for the confusion... ... |

 | | sachistu: Thanks for clarifying things <Jean Defuse>. Since I couldn't find the quoted passage, I had to assume it came from Peter Anderberg. Thanks to your citation (DSz 1979), it is clear the same Reinhard Cherubim played in Germany and in Belgium. |

May-09-19 | | Nosnibor: The game shown here was not from the Hastings Premier B section but the Premier Reserves Major section being one step down from the actual Premier. This was a strong section and Cherubim finished last with 2/9. However the following year he played in the 1957 Premier Reserves and finished first with 6.5/9.In the 1958 he again played in the A section and finished 1st equal with 6.5/9 with J.B.Jansen (Holland). The following year in the A section he finished second with 6/9 and was promoted to the Major Section for 1960
where he finished a respectable 5th equal on 4.5/9.In 1960 he was again in the Premier Challengers but disappointed with 3/9 finishing last equal. The following year saw him back in the Premier Reserves A Section scoring 4.5/9.Then he missed a year but came back in 1964 to play in the Challengers Reserves scoring 3.5/9.Then he missed another year and in 1966 played in the Major A section scoring 6.5/9 to finish second. In 1967 again in the Major A 3.5/9.The following year he made his last appearance being demoted to the Major B section finishing on 5/9. |
