Dr. L. P. Meredith, of Cincinnati, who won the local championship during the Morphy excitement, and who has never lost a match since, has been prevailed upon to challenge any player In Ohio to a match of chess, the contest to be for no stakes except the honors of victory. The challenge will remain open to all players in that State until Dr. Meredith finds a conqueror.
