GrahamClayton: 1969, 1970, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1990 and 1991 Iowa State champion, and 1980 New Mexico State champion. Harger's rating peaked at 2300 before he gave up chess in 1992. A feature of Harger's career was that created a card index on all of the opponents that he had played, so that he could check up on an opponent before he played them.
