  MissScarlett: Falkirk Herald, July 31st 1912, p.7:

<The Dominant Passion: In a notice of the death of Mr C. J. Woon, of City of London C.C., the “Times Supplement" says: "Mr Woon was a strong chess-player, and also a fine Kriegspiel player. His love of chess permeated his whole life, and only two hours before his death he was, while delirious, calling out the moves of an imaginary game. The last words he actually uttered were, 'Check, and it ought to have been mate.'">

MissScarlett: His baptismal record at Christ Church in Chelsea gives a <DOB> that appears to be March 5th, 1854.

He had two sisters, Annie and Rosa, who were both artists. His younger brother, <Frank Dillon Woon> died in 1901, aged 41, from complications following a gymnastic accident at the Croydon YMCA when he broke his leg on the edge of the mat in completing a vault.
