Jan-29-25  FM David H. Levin: I suspect that 23...Qg7 should be changed to 23...Qf7. I'm about to submit a correction slip.

MissScarlett: Found the game in the <Hereford Times> of December 18th 1909. <23...Qf7> confirmed.

In searching for this game, I happened upon another <Blake - Hoon> game from the previous championship tournament. These annual events typically ran from around November through March, so one needs to be mindful of the potential difficulty in attributing games to the correct year and tournament. Mostly they were single round robin affairs, but events with group and final stages - meaning opponents could meet more than once - did occur.

  MissScarlett: <another <Blake - Hoon>> I meant, of course, <Woon>: C Woon vs J Blake, 1909
