Nov-09-22  EvanTheTerrible: Keep an eye out for this kid! After a hiatus for COVID, his return to OTB has seen a significant increase in rating. He is currently on 5/5 in the Bavarian Championship, including two wins over ~2550 GMs.

offramp: Have you ever heard of the drink Chivas Regal?

That drink is slightly younger than him.

Connection:

A transcript via Edward Winter's site (C.N. 10958) of a taped conversation between Henry Kissinger and David Frost regarding the Fischer-Spasky match.

Frost gives Kissinger Saidy's phone number where Bobby was saying and urged him to call Bobby and convince him to go to Iceland. Kissinger agrees to call Bobby and the rest is history.

Dionysius1: Despite what it says at the stats bit at the top of the page, he's a GM with a current FIDE rating of 2522.

It's a wonder to me that cg.com lets his "last FIDE" rating get 400 points out of date. Isn't that disrespectful? And it's not likely to do cg.com's reputation much good either.

Dionysius1: Do the stats really have to be updated by hand?
