 | | MissScarlett: Wasilewski was the subject of a profile in the January 1909 <ACB> - alongside Norman Tweed Whitaker - as two rising stars of the University of Pennsylvania: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt... The underwhelming example of his play and that the <ACB> couldn't be bothered to determine his first names beyond his initials suggests they were far more interested in Whitaker. What became of him? |

 | | MissScarlett: The Amsterdam match is mentioned in the October 1910 <ACB>, p.237. If he joined the university in 1905, he probably couldn't put off returning home that much longer. |

 | | Tabanus: <Jean Defuse: ... Possibly K F Wasilewski 's father> Yes, probably. He is mentioned in Philadelphia Inquirer 14 June 1908: <The University of Pennsylvania Championship Chess Tournament has just been finished, with a result that the championship was won by F. Wasilewski, a junior in the Wharton School. Wasilewski is the son of Count Wasilewski, a Polish nobeman whose estates are located near Warsaw. He was educated at the Polytechnic School at Warsaw, and entered the University in 1905 for a further course of study. The complete score in the final round between the leaders of the University Chess Club was as follows: K. F. Wasilewski, '09 Wharton, won 3, lost 0, drew 0. W. H. Hughes, '09 Wharton, won 2, lost 1. C. F. Bauder, '09 C., lost 1, drew 2.> |
