  GrahamClayton: Riva started playing correspondence chess in 1983. For a decade (1996-2006), Riva was the National Delegate to ICCF for Luxembourg and represented his country at several ICCF Congresses. He was also Team Captain and active player until 2006, participating in 3 European Team Championships and also in 3 Olympiad preliminary tournaments. He organised several country matches and a national Championship and helped to promote correspondence chess in Luxembourg. In 2005 he received the Silver Bertl von Massow Medal and the Gold Bertl von Massow Medal in 2010.
