<Charousek, the first-prize winner in the Berlin tournament, visited Vienna recently and played a series of consultation games. The first contest was between Marco and Fahndrich against Charousek and Halprin. The latter won. The second game was between Halprin and Marco against Charousek and Fahndrich, and the result was a draw. The third game was between Charousek and Marco against Fahndrich and Halprin, and was won by the former.

The Vienna Schachgesilschaft offered a purse for a consultation match between Marco and Schlechter and Charousek and Fahndrich. The quartet played the first game on Oct. 18 and 19, the result being a draw. The second contest took place Oct. 20 and 21, and Charousek and Fahndrich won. The third game was played on Oct. 22 and 23, Schlechter and Marco winning. The final game was played on Oct. 23 and 24, the result being a draw. The time limit in all the games was 10 moves an hour.>

Any biographer care to use the above information to sort out some of the games above?

Which seems to show a 1951 <Chess Review> p382 index with some consultation games on p122.

Dec-11-14  zanzibar: This game Schlechter / Marco vs Faehndrich / Charousek, 1897 (45-move) is a near duplicate of the correct score Schlechter / Marco vs Faehndrich / Charousek, 1897 (61-move).

What happened is that an analysis branch (with 36...Kxb7) with a nice mate was incorrectly promoted into a full-fledged game.

The <ACM> refs I provided about will show this. Also, Charousek only played four consultation games involving Schlechter in Vienna, 1897 - so one of the above games had to go!
