Nachruf auf WIM Gertrude Baumstark

'.. In den letzten Jahren ihrer Schachkarriere spielte Getrude Baumstark in der Frauen-Bundesligamannschaft des SG Augsburg [city in Bavaria]. Völlig ohne irgendwelche Allüren fügte sie sich vom ersten Wettkampf an in ihrer höchst bescheidenen und sehr liebenswerten Art ins Mannschaftsgefüge ein. Auch wenn sie damals schon über dem Zenit ihrer Spielstärke hinaus war, merkte man in jeder ihrer Partien ihr hohes schachliches Können und fundiertes Wissen an.

Für das Augsburger Team war sie nicht nur ein schachlicher, sondern auch ein großer menschlicher Gewinn. Leider musste sie aufgrund eines starken Nachlassens all ihrer Kräfte viel zu früh mit ihrem geliebten Schachsport aufhören. ..'
