  GrahamClayton: Daniel A Amneus (October 15, 1919-December 18, 2003) was a Professor at California State University for 36 years between 1950 and 1986. Amneus gained a BA at the University of California in 1941. He served in the US Army during WW2, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in late 1944. Resuming study, he gained an MA in English at the University of Southern California in 1947, and a Ph.D from Los Angeles State College in 1953.
