Dec-02-06  Bobak Zahmat: Unbelievable, this guy has played an incredible game against Mikhail Tal and defeated him, and he hadn't any kibitz till today.
Dec-02-08  brankat: <Bobak Zahmat> I assume You're referring to this gem of a game by E,Bukic:

Bukic vs Tal, 1967

Dec-02-08  brankat: Happy Birthday Enver!
Dec-02-10  Skakalec: I can not find data about it, but I recall of hearding that he became blind due some exotic tropical disease after working as coach for UAE. Anyone who can (dis)confirm this?
Dec-02-12  brankat: Best wishes for Your Birthday!
Mar-02-17  cro777: I am deeply saddened by the news that GM Enver Bukić passed away in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 24th of February 2017 at the age of 79.

Bukic was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina (former Yugoslavia). Since 1991 he lived in Ljubljana, Slovenia with his wife Vera Kržišnik Bukić, a renowned Slovenian historian and a national woman master in chess.

Bukic played on the Yugoslav team in three European Team Chess Championships (1970, 1973 and 1977). In 1977 in Moscow he won a gold medal on board 7. In that championship Yugoslavia (Ljubojević, Gligorić, Matanović, Velimirović, Parma, Ivkov, Bukić, Hulak, Knezevic, Marangunić) took the bronze madal, behind Soviet Union and Hungary.

His win over Tal in Budva 1967, in "Tal style", was recognized as one of the best games of the year Bukic vs Tal, 1967

When we were young chess players we played for the same chess club.

Rest in piece my friend. You will be remembered as a great player and gentle soul.
