GrahamClayton: L'Hermet (1859-1945) edited the chess column of his local newspaper, the "Magdeburgische Zeitung".

The following variation of the Centre Game is named after him:

Penguincw: Did he L'Hermet variation of the Ruy Lopez?
Apr-01-14  thomastonk: It seems that this guy cannot be found by typing "L'HERMET", "L'Hermet" or only "Hermet" on the start page of cg; but at least "Rudolf" works somehow.
Apr-01-14  DoctorD: There is a book of his chess problems (Rudolf L'Hermet - 64 Schachaufgaben, udo degener Verlag, 2012) that appears to be already out of print.
