Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-23-06  Karpova: Somehow related to Ingrid?
Jul-02-08  Augalv: I don't know if he is related to Ingrid but the good news is that she has been rescued along with 14 other captives!
Jul-03-08  Jim Bartle: Very emotional scenes after the rescue.

CNN said the rescue was called Operation Checkmate (or, I assume, Jaquemate).

Jul-03-08  Jim Bartle: Some details of the rescue are coming out, though I'm sure we don't know many details and may never know.

Basically the Colombian govt. sent in a helicopter to a rebel camp, claiming to be either rebel leaders. They said the hostages had to be moved, and told them to get on the helicopter. Apparently they were fairly rough on the hostages.

Once they were in the air, the army guys overpowered the rebel commanders, and told the hostages they were now free.

As I said, it really can't be that simple, but it's the story so far.
