  perfidious: Long ago, I had a running joke with a friend that ex-Soviet players came out of the womb at USCF Expert level; it was a sure thing that you seldom saw them in lower sections of most events.

This player, it is plain, had preternatural talent.

  perfidious: The 1928 game was actually played by Bruce Hill, for which I have submitted a correction, but no idea who might have played the game in '46.
